I'm happy you're here.
Please read my note below before scheduling your consultation.
Hello, it’s so good to meet you. I’m glad you’re seeking support for yourself and your family. Before we schedule a time to meet, let me tell you a little about myself and the different ways I can serve you.

Most parents come to me feeling discouraged and tired. Sometimes they’re scared and not sure they can go on.

Many parents are grieving the loss of the life and family they had. They are grappling with the gap between what they expected their life to be and the reality of what is happening in their family.

Often parents are experiencing something called blocked care and while they continue to provide for their child’s needs, their heart seems to have left. They may hardly recognize the parent they’ve become.

And to touch on the deepest pain, sometimes parents wonder where God is in all of this.

I’ve felt all of these things. My husband, Russ, and I had seven children by birth when we added four children to our family through international adoption. It wasn’t long before we knew we were in over our heads. Our family was struggling on a deep level.

Fortunately, we found some helpful professionals. We also connected with Dr. Karyn Purvis and began learning how to parent with building trust and connection as our goals.

Years have passed and I’ve continued to study, write, and serve families. I became a TBRI Practitioner (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) in 2011. I also had the tremendous honor of co-authoring a book with Dr. Purvis, The Connected Parent: Real-Life Strategies for building Trust and Attachment

I’ve also continued parenting! Most of my children are grown now, but I’m still in the trenches with you as we parent our two teen sons.

Serving adoptive parents is my calling. As a wife for 40 years, parent for 37 years, and adoptive parent for 17 years, I’ve experienced the highest joys and deepest sorrows of being a mom. Jesus has given me the courage and hope needed to stay the course.

I would be honored to walk alongside you in your journey as an adoptive parent.
Ways I can serve you...
Private Coaching
I offer private coaching to parents interested primarily in focusing on their own emotional and spiritual health. While I enjoy offering parenting guidance, my primary interest is supporting you. Parenting at this intensity requires pouring energy into your children. My goal is to pour into you helping you find hope and endurance for the journey.

Parents tell me it’s a relief to be completely honest about their parenting struggles. They appreciate that I share wisdom gained over decades of parenting my crew. They have confidence in my experience as a TBRI Practitioner and the knowledge I have about parenting children with early adversity. Most of all, many parents are thankful to know I seek wisdom from God as I support them.

Some of the benefits of private coaching with me:

  • A mentor who understands your challenges through my own lived experience
  • A non-judgmental companion on this complex journey
  • No longer feeling alone
  • Support from your home that works with your schedule
  • Guidance rooted in brain-science and faith in Jesus

Cost: $600 (4-session package)
